A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden championship since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

The win also indicates he has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an better service.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, took control to create a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early chances in a competitive final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
